How Does Nemtek Academy’s Electric Fence Training Work?
Nemtek Academy offers several courses (presented as tiered modules) that you can undertake to learn more about topics including planning a fence, safety measures, energizers, animal control, and network maintenance. It works like any other training facility in that you will have to sign up and attend classes, whether it’s in-person in a classroom or online (either through self-study or virtual classrooms). We will be there to assist you every step of the way.
There are five different modules you can sign up for (which you can view by clicking here), each with its own focus, learning outcomes, assessments and certifications. These modules range from basic installation practices to the accredited Module 5, that upon successful completion, will allow you to register with the Department of Labour in order to be able to issue a Certificate of Compliance (COC), with the latter being a requirement that is mandated by the South African Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993. These modules are designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you will need for safe and efficient electric fence installation, animal management and faultfinding.
If you have decided to sign up for one or more of our courses, you also need to be aware that each module has its own requirements that need to be met before you sign up for that module. The basic requirement shared among all modules is that you need to be able to read and write, and the more advanced modules also require that you complete all the previous modules in the series before you can sign up for them. The final module, which covers the COC, requires at least 2 years practical experience in electrical fence installations and the passing of a pre-assessment test. You can read more about the prerequisites for individual courses by clicking here.
