Sliding gates are quite difficult to electrify, due to the fact that they have no fixed part in relation to the wall. The recommended method of wiring a sliding gate is by making use of sliding gate contacts so that the gate also becomes part of your electric fencing system. These contacts carry over the live wire from the fence and energise the fence wire on top of the gate.
